Casting for the Australian production for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has been confirmed. Get all the amazing details here.
When fans learned Harry Potter and the Cursed Child would go to Australia, there were questions over whether the original stars of the play would go with them. Jamie Parker, Paul Thornley, and Noma Dumezweni continued to play their roles of Harry, Ron, and Hermione respectively when the production moved from London’s West End to New York’s Broadway.
The casting for the Australian production has finally been announced. While it’s great news and there are some awesome actors being added, there’s bad news for those who hoped to see the original stars in the roles. They’re not moving Down Under for this stint.

Gareth Reeves, Gyton Grantley, and Paula Arundell have all been cast in the three main roles. Tom Wren and Lucy Goleby have been cast as Draco Malfoy and Ginny Potter.
As for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child original characters, Sean Rees-Wemyss and William McKenna will play Albus Severus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy respectively. Hypable shares the whole list of 42 actors joining the Australian production.

Some people have likely been holding off getting their tickets until the casting was confirmed. Now that it is, you can grab your tickets for the production, which starts in January 2019. You’ll need to act fast, as a lot of the earlier months are already completely booked up.

As previously reported, you can choose to see the play on one day or across two days, depending on when you would prefer to go. It’s a two-part play, designed to be viewed in one day with dinner in between halves. However, some find viewing over the course of two nights beneficial.
