Fan on Reddit spots adorable Black Panther Easter egg right on his suit
Fans on Reddit found a heartwarming Easter egg in Black Panther that highlights the familial relationships in the film. Did you catch it?
One of the great things about Marvel fandom is that fans keep finding new Easter eggs and fun tidbits of information months and even years after movies are released. Black Panther was record-breaking, as well as one of the most enjoyable Marvel movies, and it’s no wonder fans have rewatched this movie multiple times looking for small new bits of information.
A new Easter egg discovered by Reddit user u/thecruiser_ found a really adorable and heartwarming connection between T’Challa and his mother, Queen Ramonda. This fan discovered the small Easter egg during the scene when Shuri shows T’Challa the new Black Panther suit she designed for him.
As she shows him how the nanites absorb energy, a pattern glows in purple designs and the Wakandan alphabet. On the torso of the suit, the characters lighting up mean, “I love you, mom.”
"In Black Panther, when T’Challa strikes the new Panther Habit suit to test its kinetic energy storage, some glowing Wakandan text appears on the torso. If you translate one chunk of this text, it actually says, “I Love You Mom.” from MovieDetails"
Queen Ramonda, played by Angela Bassett, does not play a huge role in the film. But, the moments she does appear are powerful and speak to the close connection she has with her children, T’Challa and Shuri. One of the best things about Black Panther was seeing these family relationships, and our hearts are happy to see this adorable Easter egg in the film as it reinforces the close bond Shuri, T’Challa, and Queen Romanda all have.
Angela Bassett also talked recently about where her character was during Avengers: Infinity War and confirmed that both Queen Ramonda and Shuri survived the snap in Infinity War, saying,
"I think she’s still there in the throne room. Or she’s safely ensconced in the Wakandan Palace because we didn’t see her ‘poof’ into ashes — her or Shuri. So mama and baby girl are going to have to right this world back together, because it was pretty much decimated…in the last ‘Avengers.’"
We are excited to hopefully see more of both her and Shuri in Avengers 4 and can’t wait to see what the MCU has in store for these characters in the future.
