As more characters are being confirmed to return in AHS: Apocalypse, fans are excited to see how everything will come together in this much-awaited season.

With news coming out seemingly every few days for American Horror Story: Apocalypse, we’re more than ready for the show’s new season. While the most recent one left much to be desired, fans are anticipating Apocalypse to be worthwhile thanks to the return of so many iconic cast members and the promise of a storyline that combines Coven and Murder House, the hype is returning.

First off in casting news, Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott have been confirmed to return. They played husband and wife in Murder House, and their daughter, Violet, played by Taissa Farmiga, will be making a comeback, too.

Entertainment Weekly exclusively confirmed that Farmiga will play more than one character in AHS: Apocalypse, bringing back Coven‘s Zoe. The actress teased as much in a recent social media post.

Farmiga is not the only AHS alumn to return and take on multiple roles. McDermott also acted in season 2, where he played a different character than the one in Murder House. Britton, however, has only appeared in the horror show’s first season.

Many other cast members from previous seasons have been confirmed to return, too. Multiple cast members from Coven are set to return, including Stevie Nicks, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Emma Roberts, Frances Conroy, Gabourey Sidibe, Kathy Bates, Jessica Lange, Cheyenne Jackson, Evan Peters, Adina Porter, and Bill Eichner. This is quite the impressive cast list, and we can’t wait to see how this all comes together.

Fans are excited to see the return of so many of their favorite characters and to see how the two storylines merge. According to the producer Alexis Martin Woodall on Apocalypse, “The story begins with the end of the world, and then our world begins.”

Fans on Twitter had a lot of feelings about the casting news from excitement to confusion about how everything will play out,
