Voting is still ongoing in the PBS’ Great American Read and Harry Potter is on track for taking the win and being crowned the most loved book in America.
Over two million people have taken part and voted in the PBS’ Great American Read. 100 books are competing against one another and Harry Potter is doing well as it sits amongst the top 40 book titles.
Thirteen unveiled the books that are currently in the top 40 in the Great American Read. They are not in order of ranking, however; they are only in alphabetical order. So we can’t tell where exactly Harry Potter sits on the list, although let’s be honest, it’s clearly going to be first.

That can change at any time as voting does not close until October 18, 2018, at Midnight PT. Up until then, titles can shift up and down the list and even drop out of the top 40 as well.

Harry Potter is up against major book titles such as Charlotte’s Web, The Chronicles of Narnia, Outlander, The Lord of the Rings and many more. You can see which books are currently in the top 40 and Harry Potter’s direct competition at Thirteen here.
