Denise Richards fangirls over Real Housewives as she joins RHOBH cast

Denise Richards just got her dream gig, describing herself as “so excited” in confirming she’s joining the Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills cast.

Congratulations, Denise Richards! This self-described “huge fan” of the Real Housewives told People that she’s thrilled to become a member of the RHOBH. The popular reality TV show is set to air its ninth season on Bravo.

Denise Richards wants to meet Boy George

Denise, 47, is eager to work with the other Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills stars, who include Lisa Vanderpump, Kyle Richards, Lisa Rinna, Erika Girardi, Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave, and Dorit Kemsley. And there’s one “friend of” cast member who Richards especially wants to meet.

“I am looking forward to spending time with all the ladies… and hopefully meeting Boy George!!” gushed the actress.

Dorit and Boy George are BFFs, with Kemsley’s husband Paul serving as the pop star’s manager.

Why producers wanted Denise’s glamour for new RHOBH season

The most recent season of Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills lacked in the drama for which the franchise is known. For example, the Real Housewives Of New York stars have kept their viewers captivated with everything from shocking feuds to she-did-what flirtations. But the arrival of Richards may energize RHOBH. And that’s what producers are hoping, an insider told People.

“The producers needed to shake the dynamic of the show up after a season without much conflict. [Denise Richards is] going to be a great fit,” predicted the source. “She’s not afraid of the drama. And she lives a glamorous, Hollywood life — which the show looks for.”

Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills stars already know Denise

It’s not always easy for a newbie to join the Real Housewives cast. However, Richards already has formed “close relationships” with some of the women, such as Kyle and Lisa Rinna, according to People‘s source. The actress had wanted to join the cast before but “the timing was never right,” explained the insider.

“Denise has been wanting to join the show for a long time,” the source explained. “She’s a huge Housewives fan and watches all of the shows.”

It’s yet known whether Richards’ three daughters will appear on RHOBH. Her girls range in age from 14-year-old Sam and 13-year-old Lola to Eloise, 7. And there could be an extra dose of drama if Denise’s ex-husband, actor Charlie Sheen, makes an appearance.

Richards previously starred on her own reality TV show, Denise Richards: It’s Complicated.  The series lasted for two seasons before E! aired the last episode in 2009.

Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills, which will debut its ninth season later in 2018, first aired in 2010. It followed five other cities featured in the franchise, including Orange County, New York City, Atlanta, D.C. (which was canceled), and New Jersey.
