Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery bringing in new creatures?

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery continues to evolve and grow. The latest teased update is of new creatures coming into the game.
While there has certainly been some negativity surrounding the in-app costs for playing Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, Jam City has been consistent with updates. Every week, a new part of the story is added, bringing more friends, pets, and enemies. And every now and then there’s a little tease of things to come.
This week saw Jam City teased the addition of new creatures. It’s not clear if they’re going to be friend or foe, but they certainly don’t look like the type of creatures you’d want to get on the wrong side of. All we got on the official Twitter page for the game was a GIF of a small, troll-like creature with a red cap. They’re aptly known as Red Caps.

If you know your Harry Potter then you will already know all about the Red Caps. Armed with a club, it looks like these creatures are ready for anything. It’s hard to tell where they could be with the background, but it doesn’t look like the Forbidden Forest but that doesn’t mean it isn’t. Could this be linked to a new part of the game opening up or will it be another part of the Forbidden Forest that has previously gone unexplored?

It’s possible that they’re linked to the nursery, after a previous post to remind students to bring their earmuffs. The red caps certainly look like mushroom caps, after all. Could they be creatures pulled out during one of your classes after Thursday’s update? Doubtful really as this is normally what happens with Mandrakes but hey, you never know.

Fans have had fun guessing, with one fan suggesting it’s someone angry grandpa. Yeah, we can see where that thought came in.
