Riverdale’s Skeet Ulrich and Mädchen Amick on what’s next for FP and Alice
If there are two parents who have left the biggest impact on Riverdale over the past seasons total, it’s probably FP Jones and Alice Cooper. What’s next?
Sure, Hiram and Penelope Lodge are mob bosses and Fred Andrews has stepped into the wider world of Riverdale politics. But arguably, FP Jones and Alice Cooper have the most complicated relationships with their children on Riverdale.
They also have a rather twisted relationship with each other, too, and that was on the minds of both Skeet Ulrich and Mädchen Amick, who were interviewed during a roundtable by FanSided’s Cody Schultz. In fact, the very first question was about whether we’ll get more Falice interactions in season 3.
“And then some,” Ulrich promised. But the two also had some seriously nice things to say about each other.
“I have always wanted to have more scenes with Skeet because he’s such an amazing actor,” Amick said. Ulrich added: “Watching the skill and the ability to kind of go anywhere is magnetic for me. It’s so much fun to stand across from her.”
Speaking as a viewer, the chemistry between the two of them is also extremely apparent, and the show has done a lot to make sure that we’re aware of what Amick dubbed the pair’s “complicated history.”
However, they’re not just connected to each other on Riverdale. Amick also spoke about Alice’s relationship with Betty.
“They’re a constant power couple,” she declared, although “Alice has never moved out of her teenage years when it comes to Betty,” at least in the sniping at each other department.
As for FP and Jughead, that “has evolved to another level,” said Ulrich. Although FP is no longer part of the Serpents day-to-day, he’ll still help Jughead learn how to be the new king. In fact, Ulrich summed up FP’s life as “drywall for Alice [and] running a gang.”
As with a lot of characters in Riverdale, that’s a ridiculous, yet intriguing, mix. We might just see more of Alice’s Serpent past as well, as Amick readily declared that her character “is always a Serpent!” and joked that her jacket might be hidden and ready.
With Betty and Jughead apparently set to have their work cut out for them in season 3, expect a lot more of Alice and FP, too.
Riverdale returns this October.
