Reese Witherspoon throwing ice cream at Meryl Streep is such a mood

A new set photo from Big Little Lies season 2 shows Madeline has a score to settle — and ice cream is her weapon of choice.

When one thinks of the HBO series Big Little Lies, drama easily comes to mind. Drama between friends. Drama in relationships. Drama with little kids and their privileged, fancy birthday parties in Monterey, California.

With the show currently filming its second season, we’re eager for any news of what new drama awaits our leading ladies: Madeline (Reese Witherspoon), Celeste (Nicole Kidman), Jane (Shailene Woodley), Bonnie Carlson (Zoë Kravitz), and Renata (Laura Dern). The first season finale alone was intense enough to still give us palpitations.

For months, we’ve been low on the drama and high in the adorable department, like this pic of all the women going to see Shailene Woodley’s recent film Adrift.

Here are Reese and Laura giving us some very moody Monterey vibes. Also please, just look at Laura Dern’s look and lewk. This is easily a preview of the Renata sass we’ll see in season 2.

Back in January, we were gifted with the news that Meryl Streep would join this dynamite group of women. The Divine Goddess of acting will gift HBO and Big Little Lies with her presence, starring as Mary Louise Wright, mother of the supposedly dead Perry Wright (Alexander Skarsgård).

Streep’s joined in on the Big Little Lies cast fun, attending what looks to be the most incredible bowling night in history.

But as we said, drama is the driving force for Big Little Lies. All it took was for Meryl Streep to come along, and we were soon gifted with the beauty that is Reese Witherspoon chucking some ice cream her way.

The internet is absolutely loving all of these photos of ice cream being so violently thrown towards Meryl Streep. We can easily add this into the Mood Files of 2018.

And as Vanity Fair critic Richard Lawson said, this is likely Witherspoon’s mood 24/7.

While there’s little info as to what exactly is happening in this scene, we do know Witherspoon’s character Madeline is BFFs with Celeste. And Celeste’s husband was violent and abusive, and very likely dead. So if his mother is coming into the picture next season, we can imagine there will be plenty more intense scenes to come than ice cream being tossed about.

Oh, and if there was any doubt, Witherspoon tweeted that she absolutely hit her target.

Big Little Lies is set to return for season 2 next year.
