Harry Potter star Oliver Phelps branching out to Bury St. Edmunds murder mystery

Ready to see George Weasley head out on his own? Well, now you can in a way, as Harry Potter’s Oliver Phelps will star in a Bury St. Edmunds murder mystery.

You’re used to seeing Oliver Phelps on the screen with his twin brother James in Harry Potter, but now you’ll get to see George Weasley head out in the world alone. Well, sort of. Oliver is starring in a Bury St. Edmunds murder mystery, titled “The Case of the Frightened Lady,” set in 1932 and we can’t wait. Oh, and did we say it’s a stage production?

It’s going to be a very typical murder mystery affair, according to the star, Everyone is going to get killed and there are clues along the way to figure out who did it. Gray O’Brien plays the inspector and it certainly sounds like he’s a good man on and off stage. He’s taken Oliver under his wing to show the ropes, as this is Oliver’s first venture onto the stage.

The Harry Potter actor has also said that this is a murder mystery that will leave audiences stumped. There are some subtle clues, so he suggests you keep an eye on whoever is on stage at the time. However, you’ll be thrown for loop after loop. Some of the audiences have even thought its Oliver, despite him playing a police officer in the production.

What was it like going from screen to stage? Well, Oliver certainly found it nerve-racking, but it was also exciting. He doesn’t want to just get stuck in the same acting jobs over and over again. He wants to try something new and this is exactly what he’s done with the stage production. East Anglian Daily Times reports that Oliver also enjoyed something on a different scale compared to Harry Potter.
