Could Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery add Diagon Alley in Year 5?

Each Year in the Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery story, a new location is added. Could Year 5’s new area be Diagon Alley? Let’s take a look at the theory.

When students moved to Year 2, a new area of the castle opened up. In Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery Year 3, it was possible to go to Hogsmeade. Then the Forbidden Forest was added for Year 4. Now the question many gamers have is what will be opened up for Year 5. Is it possible that we’ll finally be able to go into Diagon Alley?

Wait, but can’t we already go into Diagon Alley? That’s where we got wands and other school supplies, right?

Yes, we have been there, but only the once. Since going to Hogwarts, we’ve never been back. Doesn’t that seem a little strange? Why can’t we get back there? Saving this for Year 5 could be the reason.

If you take a look at the recent update of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, you’ll see a travel option to head back to Diagon Alley. The catch is that it’s locked. This is the first time we’ve seen this added and it suggests that it’s coming soon. Maybe when the fifth year story is added into the game.

I don’t know much about coding, but my wife does. She shared that it makes sense to add something like this in now if the intention is to use it for a bigger update. Adding bits in one step at a time helps to prevent bugs forming that disrupt the whole gameplay.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen locked areas, either. Just before new updates, we regularly see new places to travel to that are opened with the next year’s storyline.

Could we see it sooner? Not likely. Jam City has added a new area per year. There’s no reason for it to change that, so adding Diagon Ally to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery Year 5 seems like the plan.

It does mean we don’t have too long to wait for fifth year to start.
