So, I have a couple of stellar WAYS to get vintage and vintage-style looks from Mamma Mia! and in general. You’ll possibly even start to feel like a better person because you won’t be contributing to the endless supply and demand of fast fashion.
The concept of shopping online is probably just second nature at this point. Not everyone is up on the search and compare game though. While that is a skill that I’ve perfected over quite a few years, I can share with you some resources for tracking down your dream fashion find.
First, have an idea of what you’re looking for. We can use the cult fave “Gunne Sax dress” as an example.
Second, consider other keywords in your search. Sellers may not always realize the value of a label, or may try to grab attention with other terms. In this case, we could also use “’70s,” “hippie,” “boho,” “prairie,” and even the label designer’s name, “Jessica McClintock.” Know your stuff.
Final pro tip: Know where to look, and compare. I did a “Gunne Sax dress” search on some mainstream sites, and found items I liked from Ebay, Etsy, and Poshmark. Also consider: ThredUp, Tradesy, Depop, and Mercari.
