Fantastic Beasts Dan Fogler joins the cast of The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead is about to get a little more magical, with Fantastic Beasts actor Dan Fogler joining the cast. Just what do we know about his role?
We may know him as the loveable no-maj Jacob, and now The Walking Dead fans are about to get to know him in a different way. Yes, the Fantastic Beasts comedic actor Dan Fogler is getting a stint on the zombie-action series. Now we just need to know what his role involves.
The Walking Dead made the announcement at SDCC 2018 but that was about it. No details about his character were revealed, but he will show up in Season 9, which is set to hit TV screens in October. The panel took place in Hall H, with a first-look trailer released exclusively to fans.

To get a rough idea of what to expect, The Walking Dead Season 9 is all about the redemption of Negan and continuing the fight against the zombie virus. This is also going to be Andrew Lincoln’s final season, as he confirmed his departure at the panel. Will Fogler’s character have something to do with this storyline? Will he be the one to take Lincoln out of the series? Or will he be the one to help Negan gain some sort of redemption?

Season 9 is also going to introduce the Whisperers, so this could be where Fogler comes in. For those who don’t know the series, the Whisperers have been hinted at in the past and there have been various rumors of the arrival this season, with Hidden Remote reporting a few suspicions based on sets. They’re a clan of villains highly anticipated by the fans of the original graphic novel series.

It’s hard to imagine Fogler as a villain based on his role of Jacob in Fantastic Beasts, but he’s an excellent actor and will certainly be able to pull it off. Now we just can’t wait to find out more about his role.
