facebooktwitterreddit

When you want to laugh, a comedy podcast can be the best option. With these 10 podcasts, you will definitely find your new favorite comedian.

They say laughter is the best medicine, and with comedy podcasts, you’ll be feeling so much better after a few doses. Not only is this a great medium for finding new comedians, but it is also a great platform for them to do their stand up routines.

When it comes to podcasts, there tends to be a more intimate flow to the program than there is in a scripted format, or even on stage with a large audience. And because of the way podcasts work, some of the best sketch work can be done by comedians you may never even have heard of before.

While there are plenty of comedy podcasts out there for you to choose from, here are 10 we think you will really enjoy.

The Baby-Sitters Club Club

Do you remember reading the Baby-Sitters Club books when you were younger? If you were an avid fan of these books, then this is probably the perfect podcast for you, especially as an adult.

The hosts of this show actually reread the books in the series by Ann M. Martin, and basically go beyond the words that are written. They contemplate what might really be happening in the town of Stoneybrook, and even throw out some of the most interesting theories.

Not only will this particular podcast have you laughing often, but it will also change the way you see the Baby-Sitters Club.

The Read

What makes The Read an excellent comedy podcast is the show’s hosts, Crissle and Kid Fury. Listening to them is like hanging out with a best friend as they spill that tea. You can listen on your own to this no-holds-barred conversation where they talk about everything.

While the show centers on the thing happening in pop culture today, there are different segments to this podcast, each touching on something different. Whether this means discussing things happening in the black community or even giving advice to people who write to them, the hosts always have something to say.

In the segment of the podcast called The Read, Crissle and Kid Fury even rant to each other about basically anything and everyone. And honestly, if that doesn’t feel like eavesdropping on a conversation I don’t know what does.

With their irreverence and ability to drag the world, this is a podcast that will have you laughing and nodding your head in equal measure.

My Dad Wrote A Porno

So the name of this comedy podcast is as accurate as it gets. The podcast’s host, Jaime Morton, learned that his father had written erotica, and well now we have a podcast.

Throughout the show, listeners get to hear what Morton’s dad wrote, and then he and his two friends basically dissect it all. Whether it is an absurd take on the material or a hysterical look at the way erotica reads in a non-erotic setting, there is something to be said for just how funny all of this is.

Think about learning all of your parents’ sexual fantasies and then reading them to the world. That is essentially what is happening here, but in this case, it happened to Jaime Morton. I think we can safely say we’d rather have him handle that experience than any of us.

While it is definitely not safe for work or probably even public consumption, this podcast will leave you laughing so hard that it will be impossible to breathe at times. I recommend avoiding food and liquid when listening to My Dad Wrote A Porno.

Lady to Lady

While comedy is populated with so many men, that it can seem like a boys club at times, there really are a lot of funny women out there. And the Lady to Lady podcast is a chance to hear from three Los Angeles comedians who know what it is like to go from open mic nights to the hustle and bustle of the city.

Once again this podcast is like sitting in on a conversation with girlfriends — if those girlfriends were hysterical. It may be a comedy podcast, but it also feels like a chance to sit down with friends and commiserate about life.

Anna Faris is Unqualified

Do you love Anna Faris as much as we do? If so, then you have to check out her podcast.

She knows she is unqualified, but that isn’t stopping her and her friends. In the best possible way, they offer relationship advice and basically make us laugh with their wit and ability to talk about their own relationship disasters and successes.

Whether Anna Faris is chatting with other Hollywood friends or comedians, her podcast is ridiculously funny and keeps you eager for the next episode.

Throwing Shade

Once again it feels like the name says it all with this comedy duo of Bryan Safi and Erin Gibson. These two New Yorkers are talking about everything from female issues to LGBTQ issues, but doing it in a way that one would never expect.

There is plenty of raunchiness when it comes to these two playing off of each other, but they also crack each other up, which will add to the laughter. Even on their site, they make it clear that they are addressing the issues in a way that is with “less respect than they deserve.”

If you want to hear about the issues facing either women or the LGBTQ community then this is the podcast for you. This is also true if you appreciate irreverence and raunchiness with your humor.

The two women have no problem discussing everything from dating and relationships to the trends on HGTV. With a wide variety of conversation, these two touch on topics so many people can relate to, and that means finding humor in the every day.

And because these podcasts are done live, there is a flair and flow to them that many listeners will love. Get your laugh on with these two Dope Queens.

Topics like furries, vampires, Facebook, and so much more get the deep dive thanks to Jamula and Goldberg. The ladies will talk to experts on these topics and while they inform, they also make you laugh. In fact, you will probably laugh pretty hard with these podcasts.

Dumb People Town

The final podcast of our list is a relatively young podcast but has proven itself to be a funny and absurd look at the news. And we mean the absurd news.

There are three hosts on Dumb People Town and their chemistry is undeniable. There is never any awkwardness, and they leave all the fun and humor to develop on its own. No matter what the news might be, it is always absurd and true, which means the hosts are telling us their thoughts, which are often our own.
