Fear the Walking Dead previews danger from people, walkers, and nature when season 4 returns
With the mid-season premiere for Fear the Walking Dead looming over us, we have a preview of what our survivors face next.
As we anticipate the return of Fear the Walking Dead, the synopsis for season “4b” gives us a few clues as to what we, and our survivors, can expect.
Last we saw the FTWD cast, they had finally stopped fighting each other in the wake of Madison Clark’s death. Whether they will stick together or go their separate ways, we’ll have to wait and see.
AMC’s synopsis for the final eight episodes of the season detail a grim journey for them all:
"The first half of season four began with one figure huddled around a campfire, and ended with nine. Characters who started their journeys in isolation collided with each other in unexpected ways and found themselves in one of the last places they ever expected to be…together. In the back half of the season they will explore who they are now – as individuals and as part of the greater group – and how they will forge ahead. They will find themselves pitted against new adversaries – human, walker, and even nature itself. Theirs will be a journey wrought with danger, love, heartbreak, loss, and ultimately, hope."
With this kind of preview, we easily see plenty of death and destruction coming. Much of the synopsis though isn’t necessarily new for FTWD or its parent show, The Walking Dead. Group vs. group battles make up a bulk of both shows. When people aren’t battling each other, they’re dealing with walkers.
But what really gets this Walking Dead fan is the synopsis detailing “nature” as an adversary, especially with a new poster for the show giving very Sharknado vibes. Just look at the title, “No Calm After The Storm.” Is this Fear the Walking Dead or Walkernado?

The show has already taken on an interesting turn. The Walking Dead‘s Morgan joined Alicia Clark, daughter of deceased protagonist Madison Clark, along with her comrades Victor Strand and Luciana Galvez. Morgan’s cowboy BFF John, along with his lady love Naomi, look to be the new leaders. Then we have Althea, a journalist who even in these dark times tries to capture all the grit and gore on camera.
In previews for the second half of the season, Naomi can be heard on a radio warning others of a storm coming their way. Intense winds blow walkers all over the place, as well as people.
Remember, our survivors could still be somewhere near the coast, either in the south or southwest. A massive hurricane or even a large thunderstorm is definitely possible; it would also cause havoc for them all. Flooded roads filled with walkers is not something you’d want to deal with.
