Emmys 2018: Complete list of nominations

In September, the Emmys will select the best of the best of television in a live ceremony. Game of Thrones and Atlanta rank among the nominees.

Ah, Emmys, never change. This morning, Samira Wiley and Ryan Eggold announced the official nominees for the 2018 Emmy Awards. Game of Thrones leads the pack with 22 nominations, including one for Drama Series and two for Supporting Actor. Fellow HBO drama Westworld follows closely with 21 nominations, tying comedy titan Saturday Night Live.

Yet again, the list is filled with familiar programs, despite the absence of favorites like Veep and House of Cards, which missed the eligibility window. On the comedy side, fans can at least rejoice in the slew of nominations for freshman shows Barry and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Other pleasant surprises include Sandra Oh for BBC America’s Killing Eve, Ted Danson for NBC’s The Good Place, and Brian Tyree Henry for his show-stealing performance on FX’s Atlanta.

Yet again, the Emmys failed to recognize Gina Rodriguez for her acrobatic, genre-bending work on The CW’s Jane the Virgin. Other frustrating omissions include Netflix’s miniseries Alias Grace, which got overshadowed by fellow Margaret Atwood adaptation The Handmaid’s Tale; AMC’s Halt and Catch Fire, whose sublime final season likely aired too long ago for voters to remember; and Netflix’s Mindhunter, which nabbed a single nod for guest actor Cameron Britton.

Below are the nominees for every major category. For a full list of categories, including Reality Program, check the Emmys website.
