Celebrities are taking their style cues from royal fashionista Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle is fashion’s soaring star, going from chic actress to Prince Harry’s royally chic wife so beautifully that celebrities are stealing her style.

The fashion world first took notice of Meghan Markle when she was an actress. Markle charmed observers as she effortlessly went from glamorous red carpet queen in a sleek gown to casual California gal with ripped jeans.

In the months leading up to her wedding to Prince Harry, as well as that stunning occasion itself, Meghan transformed herself into a royally fashionable princess. Now Markle continues to captivate as the Duchess of Sussex. And like us, celebrities are taking notice.

Some celebrities are going beyond admiring Meghan. They’re taking their style cues from Prince Harry’s new wife.

Selena Gomez goes style twinning with Meghan Markle

What becomes both the princess of pop music and the Duchess of Sussex? Why, Oscar de la Renta, of course. Selena Gomez slayed in exactly the same Oscar de la Renta floral print as Meghan Markle.

While Selena made her appearance in the designer outfit when stepping on the red carpet for Hotel Transylvania 3, Meghan showed up in the print for the wedding ceremony of Princess Diana’s niece. Both Gomez and Markle wore silver shoes.

Vive la différence: Selena opted for what People magazine termed a “pop-star-approved twist.” We’re calling it racier, pointing out that Gomez isn’t constrained to following the same conservative royal standard styles as Meghan. Selena’s cropped bustier-style top and matching midi skirt can be yours from Moda Operandi for $1,090 and $1,690.

In contrast to Gomez’s version of the Oscar de la Renta frock, Markle attended the wedding in a long-sleeve dress. That more modest version is already sold out on Moda Operandi, where it went for $5,490.

Karlie Kloss, Claire Danes among stars taking fashion cues from Meghan Markle

The Daily Mail pointed out that Selena Gomez isn’t the only star borrowing her style from Meghan Markle. The Duchess of Sussex has provided fashion inspiration for celebrities ranging from actress Claire Danes to model Karlie Kloss to comedian Cariad Lloyd.

In April, Markle looked stunning in a green Self Portrait frock with ruffles. Lloyd apparently felt inspired by Meghan’s dress sense, wearing the exact same dress soon after Markle’s appearance.

What becomes both a supermodel and a duchess? Karlie Kloss’ belted white dress at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week looked almost identical to the outfit that Meghan choose for the Royal Ascot. Markle also provided fashion inspiration for style blogger Sofie Valkiers, who recently twinned with Meghan’s Trooping the Color pink dress with a bateau neck. And the always elegant Claire Danes stunned in a sleek navy midi that looked similar to the Roland Mouret frock that Meghan donned on her wedding eve.
