Spider-Man’s next costume will get some ‘big changes’ in the second film

Spider-Man: Homecoming’s costume designer hinted at changes for the Spider-Man in his next solo film, and tells how the first costume came together.
Even Tom Holland can’t spoil this one for us. Spider-Man won’t be dust for long, because plans for his next solo film have been well underway. And with those plans comes the development of a few new, shiny things for Spidey, including a new suit.
As it goes with most of the heroes throughout their movies, Spider-Man will be getting another suit, according to Spider-Man: Homecoming’s costume designer, Louis Frogley. This comes from an interview with India West where the designer talked about working with Marvel on both Homecoming and Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Frogley explained that while she isn’t working on the sequel to Homecoming, she does know what we can expect from him next.
“I am not actually working on that film, but the costumes will have very big changes because, in the film, Spider-Man becomes more like [a] man and not teenager,” Frogley said.
So it looks like our young Peter Parker is growing up. After what happened to him in Infinity War, we’re not only dubbing him a real Avenger, we’re dubbing him a real man.
The costume designer also explained how Peter’s first costume came along, as the young hero began his journey as the underground web-slinger who caught Tony Stark’s eye.
“Marvel researched very thoroughly, and they were very clever about the decision and decided it should be pretty simple. As a young guy, he had his homemade suit, and then he has this beautiful suit that Tony Stark gives him, which is pretty cool,” she said.
As Spider-Man moves on to his next movie, what more can he add to his suit? Tony Stark already built in some pretty great tech into Peter’s first suits. In Homecoming, we saw that F.R.I.D.A.Y. was integrated into the suit, and there were a ton of features that Tony Stark barely trusted the high schooler to use just yet. Then, in Infinity War, we saw the cool, metallic suit with the built-in spider legs (that also let him survive up in space.)

It’d be really interesting if the Secret Wars storyline was pushed, and Peter started wearing his black symbiote-infused suit. But maybe we need to take a breather from the Infinity War that’s going on before we jump right into another. Plus, Tom Hardy is already dealing with his own symbiote problem as Eddie Brock in Venom, so that should satisfy our symbiote needs for the time being.
