Chris Hemsworth stunned us when he first played Thor in The Avengers, and he just dropped a bombshell in comparing Avengers: Infinity War to Avengers 4.

Hunky Thor actor Chris Hemsworth just dropped more than one bombshell in an Esquire interview that focused on his unique insights as the god of thunder.

Reflecting on The Avengers, Thor: Ragnarok, and Avengers: Infinity War, as well as the next movie, Hemsworth revealed why he’s so excited about the franchise’s future.

Check it out below:

"If you were shocked by [Infinity War], I think the second one is even more shocking, for other reasons entirely. That’s what kind of blew me away the first time I read both scripts, is how they managed to orchestrate so many different characters but give them each their own separate shot and moments."

As the film industry has evolved, it’s become unfortunately increasingly common for movie makers to produce sequels that just don’t measure up to the original.  Chris recognizes that concern. But Hemsworth insists that the second film succeeds in feeling “fresh and unique—not just like a messy, thrown-together assembly.”

Hemsworth refers to the danger of creating a sequel that fails as “flat-lining.” And the 34-year-old superhero actor is adamant that rather than flat-line, the next film takes the excitement to the next level.

“The second one I’m probably even more excited about,” he emphasized. “It’s another step again. Each step we seem to take with these films, I’ve loved the fact that there’s been growth and evolution and it continues to surprise people as opposed to sort of flatlining.”

Hemsworth admitted that initially, he felt concerned that the Avengers creators would “run out of ideas or run dry of creative excitement.” Rather than tap a creative well that ran dry, however, the writers provided Chris with an “incredible” experience in playing Thor repeatedly. Hemsworth singles out the “last one” as the most exciting, due to some new improv skills honed on Ghostbusters that led to improvements in both Thor: Ragnarok and Infinity War.

Hemsworth did succeed in not spilling plot points. But he did cheerfully spill the tea on which of his co-stars has stepped over the line in revealing Avengers secrets.

“Mark Ruffalo, without a doubt. The amount of times he has potentially derailed these films,” exclaimed Chris.

However, Hemsworth has only praise for Ruffalo when it comes to the actor’s personality, calling Mark “the person I probably love the most.” And because Ruffalo is “one of the kindest people you’ll meet,” Chris views it as “completely forgivable every time he gives away some plot point.”  Mark “could get away with murder,” joked Hemsworth, describing his co-star as “beyond forgivable.”
