Legion renewed for season 3… what does this mean for season 2?

On a show where you don’t even know what you just watched, Legion has a lot of explaining to do. Luckily, they’ll have a season 3 to do so.

Legion isn’t the easiest show to love. It is confusing, there are twists and turns that no one can foresee and, at the end of the day, it is just a crazy ride that we all don’t want to get off of. Lucky for us, the show was just renewed for season 3!

While that is amazing news, what does that mean for the rest of season 2?

Surely they had to have mapped out the season with the knowledge that the show could maybe be denied a review. So now that there is going to be a continuation of the story, does that mean the Shadow King will remain? Per Legion’s tweet (above), we’re being told to not get comfortable… that seems a little ominous, doesn’t it?

All season long we’ve been dealing with Farouk and his plan for world destruction. First, they could not have him return to his body. Then future Syd told David to let him return to his body and the heroes and the villains seemingly keep switching places.

Is that what season 3 is going to be too? We’ve talked before about how the show lost a bit of its power with the Shadow King storyline so will a third season go back to the show we loved or go down this new road?

We won’t know until we see how season 2 finishes but still, it would be nice if they tried to bring back the character specific feel of season 1. The show was so special and perfect and maybe a third season will bring us back to the David Haller and Division 3 we came to want to see.

As for fans of the show, whatever happens, they’re just excited they’re getting one more season.
