Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: It’s dragon time

Here we thought Game of Thrones season 8 production would make it tough to see where one of the most famous parts of the show would appear.

Warning: What a lovely day for some Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers!

Game of Thrones has a lot going for it. That’s generally what happens when you have the show’s budget (plus excellent casting and years’ worth of buzz). But even if you don’t watch the show, you probably know that there are some dragons flying around. You might not know who’s in control of the dragons, or what the dragons are named. But you know there are dragons.

If you’re reading this, since it is a spoiler for season 8, then you definitely know a lot more about the dragons. Once again, r/freefolk found and collected the photos below, but it’s A Red Priestess who deserves the real thanks.

This isn’t the first time that the Twitter user has posted photos of the King’s Landing mega-set in Belfast. These include something new: what looks pretty obviously like a dragon (well, a green-screen prop):

Let’s start with the ongoing saga of the Lannister banners. They’ve been apparently gone and back, but it seems like they’re here to stay even as other parts of the set get more and more damaged. It’s still probably not wise to say this definitively. Still, it seems like Cersei’s in control during the big burning of King’s Landing. Of course, this could all change shortly.

More important, however, is A Red Priestess’ guess that it’s Drogon we’re seeing, although they specify that it’s “not [at the] KL set” in the above tweet. After all, Drogon’s the largest of the dragons. It doesn’t seem like a resurrected Viserion would be able to grow any larger. (It just wouldn’t make sense, although this is magic and dragons we’re talking about.)

To get a better sense of the scale, fellow Twitter user dragon’s daughter put photos from past seasons together with the new look:

Again, it’s not conclusive that this is Drogon. But, when put together with the still-hanging Lannister banners, a Daenerys attack on King’s Landing is looking more and more plausible for Game of Thrones season 8.
