How important are Newt Scamander and Tina Goldstein?
Newt Scamander and Tina Goldstein are cute together but is it kind of boring?
Ever watch something and know the outcome and think to yourself, well isn’t that boring? Well, that’s kind of Newt Scamander and Tina Goldstein. For those who know the Harry Potter series, you know that they get married and have kinds. It’s in the actual series.
So looking at it objectively in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, we, as the audience, know that they’ll be fine and fall in love. So it takes out a lot of the ‘mystery’ of their relationship. We know the ending. Which one can argue is a problem faced by the entire series since we know the books.

But then again, this is hyper specific. We don’t really know how the war began so while this is all new information, we just know the endgame. We don’t know how anyone got there in the first place. So that’s why we, as the audience, love Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
It brought in the world we love but with a fun new twist. It wasn’t completely unknown to us but still had a mystery to it that we didn’t know.

But then remembering what happens to Tina and Newt, we, as the audience, have to now decide how much their relationship is going to play a part into the overall film or if it is just something that happens down the line.
Guess we’ll have to wait for the sequel to know for sure!

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Crimes of Grindelwald comes out this November. Are Newt and Tina going to play a big part in this sequel? Probably but it is going to be interesting to see how they tie it back into their storyline from Harry’s time.
