J.K. Rowling has confirmed that she has started making work on the screenplay for Fantastic Beasts 3.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is still to hit the big screens later this year but J.K. Rowling has already confirmed that she has begun work on the screenplay for Fantastic Beasts 3. Rowling confirmed this via her official blog.
In the question and answer section of her blog. Rowling answered the question; What are you writing now? with the revelation that the Fantastic Beasts 3 screenplay has begun.

"I’m now writing the screenplay for Fantastic Beasts 3."
Rowling has since finished the fourth book in the Cormoran Strike series “Lethal White.” She also dropped that she is working on a completely new project as well as the Fantastic Beasts screenplay about a story she has been playing with for the last six years. A non-wizarding world story aimed at children.
Rowling also answered other questions on her blog, such as her typical writing day, how she goes about collaborating on different projects and more.

This announcement comes shortly after the screenplay for the second Fantastic Beasts movie, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, had its front cover revealed. The cover is believed to be labeled with lots of mini spoilers for the movie, although nothing can be confirmed.
