Professor Trelawney is great but there is a reason we all love her the most. It’s because we relate to her!

When it comes to relatable characters, Professor Trelawney is pretty high up there. Why? Because she’s anxious, she gets extremely shy, and she just wants to hide in her room all the time. What’s not to love about all that?

Harry Potter has a lot of characters, that’s one of the reasons why it is so amazing. Everyone has someone they can connect to while reading the series. If you’re not a Harry Potter himself, maybe you’re more of a Padma Patil or even a Bill Weasley. There are so many options, everyone is pretty much covered.

But one character that everyone seems to defend and want to protect is Professor Trelawney. Maybe it isn’t the relatability factor but rather the fact that Trelawney is just trying her best. At the end of the day, she wants to be the best teacher she can be and that means having to put her neck out there for her students.

Yet she doesn’t want to. Which, again, makes her relatable. She doesn’t want her students to get hurt but then again, she very clearly would rather stay in her tower than deal with anything going on in the wizarding world.

She just wants to teach and wants to see into the future. It isn’t her fault that she was blessed with a gift that has her revealing prophecies about Harry Potter left and right. In reality, Professor Trelawney is just a woman who wants to live in peace and it makes her an extremely amazing character.

So when Umbridge tried to kick her out, we were all ready to fight her.
