Previous Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers showed parts of a well-documented set, but this may be the best look yet at the scale of it.

Warning: Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers are second perhaps only to Star Wars spoilers in terms of strength.

You’ll forgive us, we hope, for making a Star Wars joke when we’re really here to talk about Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers. After all, a certain movie may have premiered this weekend, and we still have it on our minds. But enough of younger versions of scoundrels. Let’s talk about new versions of sets instead, shall we?

Throughout the entire production of season 8, we’ve brought you all the latest from Belfast, where a King’s Landing set has risen over the months. However, up until now, we really haven’t gottne a sense of how big it is.

Leave it to r/freefolk to find a tweet of a panoramic photo showing that King’s Landing as built in Belfast is, as commenters have noted, “huge:

If you look closely, you’ll see where the burned towers that we’ve seen before are — right by a green screen. Quick, everyone look surprised! That absolutely makes sense considering what we know will probably happen (hint: it’s dragons).

When it comes to the ongoing eye on the red banners on the far right of the picture, it doesn’t seem like there’s been a change there yet. They’re still hanging, and they still look to be the same colors they were in previous pictures. That is, it doesn’t seem like any damage has been done to them yet.

Commenters in the freefolk thread also pointed out the piles in the lower right, surmising that those piles could be either “building materials” or “fake corpses.” We’ll offer a third theory: that it’s actually pre-built rubble, meant to help show the destruction once it actually happens.

All in all, though, this is the clearest look yet at the entire set, not just the most fascinating bits. What draws your eye in? Let us know in the comments below.
