Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery tips: How to beat the Ice Knight
By Callum Gunn
For those who have reached Year 2 of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, the Ice Knight can be one of the hardest challenges to get through. Here’s how to beat him and move forward to Year 2.
At the end of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery Year 2, players need to take on the “big bad.” You’ll need to get through to the Cursed Vault, which is when the Ice Knight appears. Don’t worry if you’ve struggled to get past him, as he is the hardest challenge you’ll face up to this point in the game. However, we have the secrets to take him down.
In a way, the challenge is a little like rock, paper, scissors (no lizard, Spock for The Big Bang Theory fans out there), but with a Harry Potter twist. It’s Aggressive, Sneaky, Defensive, with one beating the other. Then there’s the added twist of the spell overpowering. Select the right spell for the job and you’ll be able to overpower any of the stances.

Opt for Incendio
The Incendio spell is, by far, the best one for going up against the Ice Knight. You’ll deal the largest damage over time. Even if you can’t counter the attacks or you fail to guess the right stance, you’ll still make the Ice Knight weaker for the future attacks. You’ll want to make sure you do this, because the Ice Knight is a powerful character and deals out a lot of damage against you.

If you work the Incendio spell with the Aggressive stance, you can beat the Sneaky stance well. Eventually, the Ice Knight will opt for the Sneaky stance to deal out the best amount of damage and take him down for good. But whether he opts for Aggressive or Defensive, you’ll still be able to deal out a good amount of damage.

Consider Healing now and then
Make sure you keep an eye on the amount of damage the Ice Knight has dealt out in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. You do have Healing at your disposal, which you’ll want to use now and then. This helps to protect you against some of the future attacks, helping to give you longer in between the Ice Knight’s Sneaky attacks.
