5 celebs who obsess over their adorable pets on Instagram

Celebrities and their star pets are causing Instagram to rain cats and dogs, from Taylor Swift and her cats to Lady Gaga and her French bulldog.

We’re crossing our paws that you’ll feel purr-fectly delighted to share our meow-worthy furry faves. Give us a high five (claws in, please) as we indulge ourselves in sniffing around Instagram to find the greatest celebrity pets on social media.

From Taylor Swift and her aww-inducing kittens to Lady Gaga’s fabulous French bulldogs, seeing celebrities and their precious pets on Instagram often feels like you’ve struck social media gold. So of course we’re retrieving one of our all-time favorites to begin….

1. Betty White and her golden retriever

Betty White, who celebrated her 96th birthday in January, ranks at the top of the list when it comes to celebrities devoted to their pets. White credits her eternally youthful looks and energy to loving animals. Betty’s golden retriever Pontiac rules as “the star of the house.”

2. Lady Gaga and her French bulldogs

Lady Gaga loves her French bulldogs, and this celebrity dog lover has even created a separate Instagram page for the most divine dog of her crew: Miss Asia. The little dog has accompanied Lady Gaga everywhere since their friendship began in 2014.  We think that if Miss Asia could sing, her theme song would be “Born This Way.”

3. Taylor Swift and her cats

Cat lovers who want to brush up on celebrity kittens: Be prepared to become happily addicted to following Taylor Swift and her cats on Instagram. Swift turned to her passion for two fictional TV women to get inspired for kitty names. One cat is named Meredith Grey in honor of the lead of Grey’s Anatomy and the other is Olivia Benson, from Law & Order: SVU.

Oh, and just in case you were wishing for something different in the celebrity pet world, like maybe a unicorn? Taylor has granted your wish by riding an enormous version of Olivia the cat in a new ad for DirectTV Now. Caticorns, anyone?

4. Ed Sheeran and his kitten

Ed Sheeran (look for @TeddysPhotos on Instagram) is a man who has no hesitation to admit he’s a cat lover. This adorable singer becomes even more adorable when you learn that he adopted his star kitten, Graham, because Sheeran learned that the one-month-old baby cat was going to be put to sleep.

5. Andy Cohen and his beagle mix

Andy Cohen, known for keeping his cool during even the most heated Real Housewives reunion, found instant love online (and on leash) with his beagle mix, Wacha. Fans of Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live eagerly wait to see if Wacha will make an appearance. This celebrity dog once couldn’t resist Carol Burnett, leaping into her lap when she gave her famous Tarzan yell.

For this happy celebrity dog, as with all the pets here, having a human who’s famous isn’t all that important, of course. What really matters is getting lots of hugs, playtime, and healthy food.
