Billy Dee Williams and Donald Glover coordinated at the Solo premiere in the most Lando Calrissian way possible
What would Lando Calrissian wear to a premiere? Well, we don’t know exactly, but Billy Dee Williams and Donald Glover definitely tried for Solo’s premiere.
There’s something to be said for making a statement at a movie premiere, even if you’re not playing the main character. After all, when the movie is backed by Disney and part of an iconic brand like Star Wars the press — and the fans — are guaranteed to be there. Such was the case at last night’s Solo: A Star Wars Story premiere in Los Angeles.
You may wonder what Alden Ehrenreich and Emilia Clarke wore to the event. To that, we’d have to say two other men captured the night with their probably-not coordinated looks.
Those two men, of course, are Billy Dee Williams and Donald Glover, also known as the two men responsible for bringing Lando Calrissian to life. Gaze upon their magnificence:

What star today would dare wear a black lace cravat? No one. But because he’s Billy Dee Williams, and because we know him as Lando, we just nod. Because this is a good look.
If he had Lando classic, then Glover had Lando modern on lock in a very similar color scheme:

Those white shoes are everything that they need to be for a look like this. We’re not even mad about the poses Glover struck, because they are very much in character for Lando. The black buttons on the sleeves are nice details as well.
Oh, and if you were wondering, here’s what Ehrenreich and Clarke were wearing:

To be completely fair, Clarke had the Met Gala earlier this week (where she landed on our best-dressed list, so kudos to her). As for Alden, it looks an awful lot like he’s wearing jeans on the red carpet. Then again, maybe he feels he’s getting Han’s rugged character down with this style.
