J.K. Rowling’s “The Tales of Beedle the Bard” is just the latest to get the illustrative version. Bloomsbury’s Harry Potter Books announced that the special edition would be available from Oct. 2, 2018, but you don’t have to wait that long to see the first illustrations. Created by award-winning artist Chris Riddell, the first artwork has already been shared.

The special illustrative edition follows the success of the first set of “Harry Potter” novels. This full-color edition will be sold in aid of Lumos, Rowling’s international children’s charity.

“The Tales of Beedle the Bard” illustrations

There’s one particular illustration that will draw the “Harry Potter” fans in. Bloomsbury notes that it’s significant to “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” and certainly looks like one of the brothers using his resurrection stone with devastating consequences. The resurrection stone was used by Harry at the end of the novel to gain the courage he needed to face Voldemort and sacrifice his life for the sake of good. There’s also a chance that it will come back up in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

Some of the illustrations shared aren’t in full color yet, giving fans the chance to see the initial work involved and then the development into the beautiful drawings and vibrant colors added at a later stage.
