Legends of Tomorrow stars discuss what’s to come at C2E2

Stars of the hit CW show Legends of Tomorrow were on hand at C2E2 this year to tease what’s coming – and what’s probably not.

The movie world has the DCEU. Thanks to The CW, the television world has the Arrowverse. It may be named for Arrow, but some fans (and plenty of critics) would argue that Legends of Tomorrow is the standout of the Arrowverse shows.

Led by Caity Lotz, Brandon Routh and Dominic Purcell, Legends very quickly became a fan favorite after its debut in 2016. During their panel at C2E2 this year, the stars talked about the show’s future and a little bit of its past.

As Legends fans know, the three actors are the only original members of the gang left. This was something Lotz didn’t fully process until recently. But that’s probably because they’re focused on what’s to come.

While the actors didn’t discuss any specific Legends that might be popping up in the future; they did say where in time they’d like to visit – or rather, revisit.

Both Routh and Lotz agreed that returning to Egypt would be fun. Routh added that he’d like to get a chance to fully experience the late 1700s and wear Revolutionary War garb. When the Legends were in that era, he was busy fighting “Zombie Dom.”

Purcell himself had no such complaints. He fully owned up to hating most outfits. So, when one fan asked if there might be some costume changes on the horizon for Atom or Heat Wave, the answer was a resounding “Probably not.”

For now, Legends of Tomorrow has taken over Supergirl’s slot on The CW. The Girl of Steel is set to fly back to Mondays on April 16. From there, the two shows will rotate airing original episodes on Mondays through June.

No new crossover episodes have been announced yet, but the Legends actors did say those episodes are a lot of fun. “Logistically, it’s a nightmare,” Lotz admitted. The struggle is knowing which show they’re actually filming on a given day.

But if they could have a fellow Arrowverse star permanently cross over, it might make things easier.

For Lotz, the choice would be Iris West, simply because she and Candice Patton are good friends. Routh voted to have Emily Bett Rickards – who plays Felicity Smoak on Arrow – join the team.

It could happen. After all, no show lasts forever. And, with the luxury of time travel, storylines can be bent to make it work.
