Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD season 5 episode 16 preview: Inside Voices

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD has the world hurtling towards all but certain doom, so how will our SHIELD team fare this week while they try to find Coulson?

We’re stuck in a time loop on Agents of SHIELD. Right? We’re all convinced it’s the same time loop as always?

I feel like the Gunslinger would appreciate the irony.

Everyone’s dirty laundry is back in the open. Daisy has her powers back, Fitz and Simmons know Deke is their grandson, and everyone thinks they’re invincible because they have proof they make it.

I mean, that didn’t go well for Boris in GoldenEye, but okay, sure, run with it, Agents of SHIELD.

The official synopsis for this week’s episode, courtesy of ABC:

"Coulson is forced to team up with surprising allies to save the world, while the S.H.I.E.L.D. team attempts to track down and rescue him."

So, this seems odd. The last episode ended with Hale locking Coulson back up because he sputtered on and on about being in the future.

Does she believe him? Or does he drop that story and try to work with Ruby to take down her mother?

From all of the promotional stills, it sure looks like her superhuman team is gearing up for a war. To what degree Coulson includes himself remains to be seen.

On the flip side of that coin, Daisy will do anything to get their leader back.

(Short comic book spoiler alert!) Doesn’t she read comics and know she becomes the head of SHIELD at some point? Get with it!

Her blind hunt for Coulson seems a little like the warning future-Elena gave. Don’t try to help save him. Try to save the world.

We’ll see when Elena breaks her silence more than just exclaiming her invincibility.
