The Russo Brothers penned a charming letter on Twitter, letting everyone know that it’s best if Avengers: Infinity War was not spoiled by anybody.
Joe and Anthony Russo, the directors of Avengers: Infinity War, are begging us to do just one thing: please, don’t spoil the movie!
Okay, the movie hasn’t come out yet (that’s saved for April 27). They’re just prepping us in advance. On Tuesday, the brothers shared a written letter on Twitter asking us to please keep mum after we see the movie. You can read the fully transcribed letter at the end of this story.
They’re not just asking us to keep silent for a few days or weeks. They’re talking about months. But that’s fair, considering it’s common courtesy to not spoil the movie for anyone.
You can add Robert Downey Jr. as a cosigner to that letter. He responded to the tweet saying he trusts us all to keep everything under wraps.
Of course, that does make a few alarms go off. Just how many terrible moments is this movie filled with? The directors literally had to give us a warning weeks in advance before we see the movie. Sounds pretty serious to us.
There have been a couple of death rumors running about, and even speculation about what the next Avengers movie could be about — because, of course, that would be a spoiler too.
The letter had fans on Twitter, understandably, freaking out just like us.
Or, it’s likely that this letter wasn’t necessary for the fans at all. Instead, it could be directed towards a certain Marvel cast member who has a hard time keeping secrets (ahem, Tom Holland).
Here’s what the Russo’s had to say in their letter:
"To the greatest fans in the world,We’re about to embark on the Avengers: Infinity War press tour. We will be visiting fans all over the world screening only a limited amount of selected footage from the film in order to avoid spoiling the story for future viewers. We will not screen the film in its entirety until the Los Angeles premiere shortly before the film’s global release. Everyone involved with the film has worked incredibly hard for the past two years maintaining the highest level of secrecy. Only a handful of people know the film’s true plot. We’re asking that when you see Infinity War, in the coming months, that you maintain that same level of secrecy so that all fans can have an equal experience when they watch it for the first time. Don’t spoil it for others, the way you wouldn’t want it spoiled for you.Good luck and happy viewing. The Russo Brothers#ThanosDemandsYourSilence"
