Stars from the stage and screen like Matthew Morrison and Rachel Bloom are coming together for a From Broadway with Love concert for Parkland.

Broadway stars are coming together for a good cause. On April 16, performers from the stage and screen will unite to put on a benefit concert for Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

With big names like Matthew Morrison, Rachel Bloom and Wayne Brady, Broadway With Love: A Benefit Concert for Parkland, USA will definitely draw a big audience.

The benefit is helping raise funds in the wake of the Parkland, Florida, shooting in February. According to Variety, it will also feature Noah Galvin, Telly Leung, Deborah Cox, Laura Bell Bundy, Bloom’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend co-stars Donna Lynn Champlin, Vincent Rodriguez III and Gabrielle Ruiz, and more. They will be accompanied by the South Florida Symphony.

It’s going to be amazing watching such incredible talent perform for such an important cause. Music can really bring people together.

But while big names will be a draw, the way they’re including the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students in the benefit is what really makes this special. Some of the songs at the benefit will be written by Stoneman Douglas students and theater composers such as Joe Iconis, Drew Gasparini and more. Other songs will solely be written by students.

Jamie Guttenberg’s dance troupe will also perform at the benefit in honor of her memory. Several of the Stoneman Douglas students will speak at the event.

This really is all for Parkland. Around 10,000 tickets have been given to families of the high school students and staff. The proceeds will go to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Victims’ Fund and Shine MSD for arts advocacy in Parkland.

This isn’t the first time the Broadway community has come together like this. They previously put on From Broadway With Love: A Benefit Concert for Orlando and From Broadway With Love: A Benefit Concert for Sandy Hook among other initiatives. It really shows what a community the theater world can be.
