Harry Potter reboot in the works, Supernatural’s Misha Collins involved
By Callum Gunn
The Wizarding World is about to get a little bit Angelic as Supernatural’s Misha Collins heads up the Harry Potter reboot!
In 2011, the Harry Potter movie franchise came to an end with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson hung up their wands for the final time as the magical trio. Since then we have had the Fantastic Beasts franchise pick up along with the stage production Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
However, the time has come, and it was inevitable it would, for the wands to be picked up again and the reboot of Harry Potter to commence. Details are limited on the reboot but Harry Potter fans will know that plenty was left out from the books.

Whether the reboot intends to right a few of these wrongs, take a whole different approach than before or to just recreate the films with new technology is still to be decided. Right now, casting is the main priority.
Supernatural’s Misha Collins involved
Misha Collins, best known for playing the role of Castiel in Supernatural, is involved in the project. This news will delight many fans of the SPN Family. Collins has been a staple favorite of the Supernatural fandom since his introduction in Season 4 and fans have been desperate to see the actor branch into other acting roles.
Supernatural fans should know that Collins has no intention of stepping away from The CW series.
The actor tweeted recently about his involvement in the reboot. A caption was included within the tweet showing Collins in action during a screen test:
An inside source spoke to us regarding Collins auditions for the Harry Potter reboot.
"“Misha came on set and auditioned for several roles. He was extremely excited to be involved in the project, as were we when we found out he was auditioning.”"
Those roles included Professor Severus Snape, Harry’s potion master. During the audition, Collins used his fake British accent that he recently showcased on Supernatural. He was turned down for the role of Snape because of how bad that accent was.
He also auditioned for Sirius Black but took the role of Harry’s Godfather too seriously and tried to adopt some parts of Supernatural into the project. Wearing Angel wings and calling himself the “Chuck Father!” it was clear that this was not a suitable role.

He also auditioned for the part of Professor Lupin, Harry’s Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, but failed to do a very good impression of a werewolf.
That failed audition, however, lead perfectly into the role that Misha has secured for the Harry Potter reboot. Drawing experience from a scene in his Supernatural career as an interrogator, he has been cast as the notorious, cat, Mrs. Norris.

It remains unclear if Collins auditioned for any other parts but sources have confirmed that this is all a complete hoax and nothing more than an April Fool’s joke. Although we would love to see Collins spread his wings and join the Harry Potter franchise one day!
Happy April Fool’s Day everyone!
