Harry Potter: A History of Magic is making its way over to the U.S. in celebration of the 20th anniversary. Here is all the information you need about the exhibition.

Harry Potter may have strong routes in the UK but it also has a solid fan base in the U.S. So it is was only a matter of time before the exhibition of Harry Potter: A History of Magic made its way over.

The exhibition was, until recently, held at the British Library. The exhibition ran during the year of 2017 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of when “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stones” was first published.

So to celebrate the 20th anniversary of when “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stones” was first published in the U.S., the exhibition is on the way to the New York Historical Society.

Harry Potter: A History of Magic U.S. exhibition

Dates have been confirmed for the exhibition. The exhibit shall run from Oct. 5, 2018 – Jan. 27, 2019. Tickets have been on sale since February 14 via the website to New-York Historical Society Members; you can become a member at any time and get early access tickets.

If you don’t fancy becoming a member, then April 26 is the date you want to mark on your calendar. As on April 26, 12 pm EST, tickets will open up to the rest of the general public.

Taking viewers on a historical journey of the franchise; the exhibition includes early sketches from both Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling and illustrator of the Harry Potter illustrated editions, Jim Kay.

Real life folklore and a history of magic, a large influence for Rowling in creating the Wizarding World, is also part of the tour. A companion book, “Harry Potter: A Journey Through a History of Magic” is also part of the experience.

In the run-up to the 20th-anniversary celebrations in the U.S, the CW network is airing a TV special, Harry Potter: A History of Magic. Scheduled to air on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, 8/7c.
