Legends actress Isaura Barbé-Brown has been cast as Laurena Kama in upcoming Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

The first wife of Corvus Lestrange and mother of Leta Lestrange, Laurena Kama, now has a face to the name as Legends actress Isaura Barbé-Brown has been cast for the role. That is according to Heroic Hollywood who first reported the news.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is currently in post-production and those are the only details that have been made available. How her story will play out is still a mystery but connections can be made to both Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter.

More from Harry Potter

The name Lestrange is fairly well known in the Harry Potter world. Bellatrix Lestrange, faithful Death Eater to Lord Voldemort was the one to kill Harry’s godfather, Sirius Black. She met her downfall at the Battle of Hogwarts when she duelled Mrs Weasley. How Bellatrix relates is still not clear.

In terms of Fantastic Beasts, eagle-eyed fans spotted in the official trailer a family tree of the Lestrange family. We won’t delve too much into what this family tree could potentially mean for those who wish to remain spoiler-free, but this could be how Isaura Barbé-Browns character comes into the Fantastic Beasts franchise.

Will she be good or bad is another big question. Fantastic Beasts have been making plenty of connections to Harry Potter and the Death Eaters. Actor, Derek Riddell, who has taken on the role of Torquil Travers in the series, is one such connection. Riddell actually had no idea himself of the significance of the Travers name but fans know all too well that the name Travers is associated with Lord Voldemort.

Riddel’s character is not that same Travers but he is understood to not be the friendliest person either. Especially with Newt Scamander.
