J.K. Rowling’s new Cormoran Strike series will come to the U.S.

U.S. fans worried that they won’t get the adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s Cormoran Strike series don’t have to worry any longer.
When Robert Galbraith was announced as the pen name for J.K. Rowling, the world went crazy. Suddenly everyone wanted a copy of her Cormoran Strike series. The novels are now being turned into a TV series, but there was initially some worrying news for U.S. fans. It was going to be a U.K. show with no hint to moving across the water.
Now there’s no need to worry. Rowling has confirmed that her Strike series (which she’s working on the fourth novel of at the moment) will make it to this side of the Atlantic. Expect it in June 2018. That’s really not that long to wait, although definitely is much longer than U.K. audiences.

The only differences in the U.S. will be the name. It will be called C.B. Strike to avoid confusion with another American TV series already with the name Strike.
The U.K. has had all three seasons of the series so far. The first season is three episodes long and covers “A Cuckoo’s Calling.” The second and third seasons are both just two episodes long, covering the second and third books respectively, “The Silkworm” and “Career of Evil.”
Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger star in the TV series. The two are expected to reprise their roles should Rowling’s next book be turned into a series. There are no plans to create a story around the characters that aren’t based on one of the novels, Grainger recently shared.

While there has been praise for the series, there has been some criticism, particularly with the second series. The episode featuring a suicide of a character was aired on World Suicide Prevention Day, which was tasteless.
