Harry Potter illustrated editions will soon be available in paperback form!
By Callum Gunn
Bloomsbury is set to launch an illustrated version of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in paperback form this August.
Not everyone is a fan of the hardback. To be fair not everyone is a fan of the paperback either, but for a long time now, the illustrated editions of Harry Potter have only been available in hardback. That will no longer be the case come this August however as Bloomsbury gear up to release the illustrated version of Harry Potter in paperback.
It will still feature the wonderful illustration by Jim Kay and contain all of the magic of Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. A new front cover will feature in the paperback edition. The hardback features a picture of the Hogwarts Express. For the paperback, the front cover will feature an image of Hagrid flying on his famous motorcycle from Privet Drive.
More from Harry Potter
- Tom Felton is the star of the new Harry Potter x CASETiFY collection
- Create a magical event worthy of Hogwarts with this new Harry Potter-themed party planning book
- Can Fantastic Beasts hold up to the Harry Potter franchise?
- Show off your Wizard’s Chess skills with this Harry Potter set that’s now over half off
- Harry Potter continues to inspire generations – including Jack Harlow
A unique addition to the paperback version will be the inclusion of a pull-out poster of a certain Norwegian Ridgeback dragon who goes by the name of Norbert. Hagrid tried to raise the dragon in his hut during Harry’s first year and had the famous trio trying to help him with his fire-breathing pet.
Harry Potter illustrated editions
Bloomsbury have only announced that Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone will be coming in paperback but we imagine the rest of the series will follow. The hardback edition was released in 2015 and it wasn’t until 2016 that Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets became available and 2017 for the Prisoner of Azkaban. The Goblet of Fire illustrated edition is not expected until 2019.
So while they have only announced the paperback version of Philosopher’s Stone we fully expect the others to follow suit, just like the hardbacks.
Those wanting to add this edition of Harry Potter to their collection will be pleased to hear that the price is much more affordable. They are expected to be almost half of the hardback editions.
