Police raid brings down Harry Potter knock-off store!
By Callum Gunn
Well, this is certainly a new one. A shop selling Harry Potter merchandise in Spain was raided as everything being sold was fake!
A shop on Barcelona selling fake knock-offs was raided by the Spanish Police force, the Guardia Civil. The store was selling a variety of knock-off products related to Disney and Warner Bros, the vast majority belonging to Harry Potter.
The items the store sold appeared genuine enough. Gryffindor house scarves, Ravenclaw banners and even a selection of wands housed in a glass case where up for sale. An investigation into the items determined that they were nothing more than counterfeits being sold as genuine items.

It is not quite understood how many items have been seized but it is looking to be close to 10,000 items worth almost 300,000 Euros in retail value.
Barcelona has been known to sell many knock-off items. Mostly in the clothing industry, Football / Soccer shirts and designer clothing are the most common items to be found as knock-offs.
