J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World Crate update their product description
By Callum Gunn
If you are a subscriber to J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World Crate via Loot Crate then you need to be aware that the product description has been changed.
Anyone unfamiliar with what the J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World Crate actually is, it is a subscription box service that sends out a mystery box filled with geeky items. Sent out monthly or bi-monthly depending on what you subscribe to. The items are a complete mystery to the subscriber, the only information they have is the theme.
J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World Crate is filled with items from both Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts. Each crate features a number of items up to the value of $65 + and are exclusive and officially licensed.
More from Harry Potter
- Tom Felton is the star of the new Harry Potter x CASETiFY collection
- Create a magical event worthy of Hogwarts with this new Harry Potter-themed party planning book
- Can Fantastic Beasts hold up to the Harry Potter franchise?
- Show off your Wizard’s Chess skills with this Harry Potter set that’s now over half off
- Harry Potter continues to inspire generations – including Jack Harlow
That feature listing has recently had an update. If you visit the official website you will see the description lists the crate as containing 4-6 items. Previously it stated 5-7 items. Value and exclusivity have not altered.
Why the change?
It will likely be due to the items being of higher value and it is a perfectly reasonable decision. Fewer items at a higher value is a reasonable trade, sometimes anyway, not always.
A bigger factor will be what occurred for customers with the most recent Wizarding World crate. Backlash and general concern were voiced via social media after customers received their January crate with only 4 items. Many noticed that this was one short of the minimum 5 and where understandably annoyed.

Loot Crate explained the reasoning behind this change being the higher value items. An understandable reason but they should have at least notified customers and changed the product description before sending out the crate.
It’s a month too late really to be updating their description but at least it has been done now and it will put a stop to any confusion and complaints on any future crates that have less than expected items.
