Hey Oscars, fans want Tiffany Haddish and Maya Rudolph to host next year

Some people think Tiffany Haddish and Maya Rudolph would make great hosts for the next Oscars, and these could be the hosts to save the show.

We love you, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, but we think a new comedy duo should take over the hosting game. We present to you: Tiffany Haddish and Maya Rudolph.

The two made a big splash after presenting at the Oscars on Sunday night. Even though they presented for two, arguably, not-so-exciting categories (documentary short subject and live-action short film), they managed to create one of the most memorable moments of the night.

Haddish and Rudolph were a riot from the start, walking out with high heels in hand because, honestly, those things can get uncomfortable.

“I got blisters bubbling up on the bottom of my foot,” Haddish said.

“Girl, my pinkie toe fell off,” Rudolph joked in response, dangling a fake little pinkie toe.

They even poked fun at #OscarsSoWhite and the fear that two black women on that stage could mean the Oscars was too black. They jokingly assured everyone that the Oscars were in fact, still pretty darn white.

Once their bit was over, people took to Twitter to express how brilliant it would be if Haddish and Rudolph hosted the next Oscars.

Some even suggested the women star in a comedy movie together. Hey, whatever way we can get these two back on screen, we’ll support it.

All jokes aside, Haddish and Rudolph could be good business for the Academy Awards. This past Oscars saw its lowest viewership since its ratings were recorded, according to Bloomberg.

If people are going to sit through a four-hour show, it has to be worth watching. Sure, Jimmy Kimmel can garner a few good laughs here and there, but audiences might anticipate a better, funnier show with a duo like Haddish and Rudolph — especially given their killer performance on Sunday.

The pressure is on for the Academy Awards to get back its audience next year. But, luckily, the hard part is already over. The fans have spoken and chosen the next host; it’s all up to the Academy to make its decision. If not, the Golden Globes might snag the ladies first.
