To Harry Potter fans, Jack Thorne is the man behind the Cursed Child script, but now he’s moving into a Disney live-action reboot.

Live-actions of the memorable and lovable Disney classics are all the rage right now and show no sign of stopping. One of the latest to come is Pinocchio, and there’s a very special Harry Potter link to it. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child playwright, Jack Thorne, will put pen to paper again for the live-action script. It will be an adaptation of the 1940 Disney classic, about the live wooden toy that just wanted to be a real boy.

Thorne will be joined by a number of well-known stars. Paddington director, Paul King, will share his talents with the remake, while Beyonce, James Earl Jones and Keegan Michael-Key are all set to perform in the adaptation.

Well, there is a stage adaptation, currently playing at the National Theatre in London. While it’s partially based on the original tales by Carlo Collodi and the film, it also features a book by Matilda’s playwright, Dennis Kelly. And there is a Harry Potter connection. John Tiffany is currently directing the on-stage production, who also directed the West End production of Cursed Child. It’s a small world when it comes to masterpieces and stage shows.
