Fort William adds a Harry Potter store to its list of tourist shops to create an exciting experience for visitors and locals alike.

Muggles, wizards, elves, goblins and more will have another Potter store in Scotland to spend their gold. Shortly after the announcement that one in Scotland was coming, Fort William is opening with Hagrid Alley. Scott and Maria Wilson will open in March 2018, creating a fully immersive experience for all.

This isn’t the duo’s first journey into the world of wizarding tourism. They offer a gift shop and catering options on the Hogwarts Express, the Jacobite Steam Train. Now they want to bring the experience to life in Mallaig. In fact, the gift shop on the Jacobite Steam Train only started four years ago, but Maria’s love for Harry Potter and more has grown so much that she wanted to branch out.

It wasn’t love at first sight

Maria admits that she never quite fell in love with the novels and movies when they first came out. It was only due to working on the train that she learned about the world, the fandom and the fun and passion.

The train store only came by chance but instantly grew. The Hogwarts Express takes fans over the Harry Potter bridge to Dark Lane and Dumbledore’s final resting place. The Wilsons offer a range of snacks that suit the Potter world, but also offers memorabilia and gifts.

The new store, Hagrid Alley (a clear combination of the loveable Hagrid and Diagon Alley), will store all things Potter. This is a chance to expand into more memorabilia and items as on the train, she wasn’t able to sell the clothes, hats and other items, but she will be able to in her store.

How will this differ from all the other Harry Potter stores out there? Well, the big thing is the experience. This is a chance for fans to travel to the world of Potter. There is also a promise that this isn’t just for Gryffindors. All houses, magical creatures and even Muggles are welcome. There is also hope that it will offer items that are exclusives in the store to make that trip even more special.
