I wish my math teacher had this idea!!!

Did you like doing maths at school? I could do maths, but if I am honest I really didn’t enjoy it, but I reckon I really would have excelled at the subject if my math teacher decided to turn the classroom into something straight out of Hogwarts.

And that is exactly what this math’s teacher did. He converted his entire classroom and his office into something straight out of Hogwarts. From the walls, to the roof, to the desks, to the chairs. Not an inch of classroom space has been left out in this magical transformation.

More from Harry Potter

“I wanted the space where we learn math to be fun,”

Kyle Hubler is our math teacher in focus and he carried out the transformation at Evergreen Middle School in Hillsboro, Oregon in the second half of last year. A video showing the transformed classroom is now up on Facebook, via NowThis Entertainment.

Hubler talks about why he carried out the transformation in the video, explaining that;

He explains, very honestly, that he knows that many of his kids hate doing math. So he wanted to create a space where they can learn about math and have fun at the same time. Explaining that if they are learning about fractions he will get out some measuring cups and they will make a potion. Therefore creating a fun, learning environment.

Hubler also talks about the messages and teachings of Harry Potter itself. How it teaches everyone about tolerance and acceptance of who you are. Something Huber believes is very important in school.
