Alan Rickman will “Always” be remembered

The late British actor may be gone but will “Always” be remembered, not just by Harry Potter fans but by everyone.

February 21st marks the birthday of the late British actor Alan Rickman. Taken too soon the actor sadly died from cancer at the beginning of last year. Known for many roles throughout his acting career we can think of no better way to remember him on his birthday than drawing your attention to a poll that has him sitting as the best English actor of all time.

The poll, run by The Ranker, allowed users to cast their vote on who they believed the best English actor is, dead or alive. It also takes into account their entire body of work throughout their time, so it is not based on one particular performance.

Alan Rickman had a vast career throughout his time. We all know him for his portrayal as Severus Snape in Harry Potter, a portrayal that was so good that we cannot vision any other actor being Snape, but Rickman was in many other roles as well.

He starred in Die Hard as Hans Gruber, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves as The Sherriff of Nottingham, Alice in Wonderland as the Blue Caterpillar, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street as Judge Turpin, the list goes on and on. Rickman has a huge number of acting credits to his name, with each one being just as amazing as the last.

Rickman has done it all and he has influenced so many individuals. It is no wonder that he has been voted the greatest English actor of all time. Alan Rickman may be gone, and it is truly sad that he is, but he will always be remembered and not just for Harry Potter.
