The new Harry Potter Universal Orlando attraction is coming along fast with new permits being filed.

Ongoing work at Universal Orlando Resorts for the new Harry Potter ride continues, but it looks like things will be starting to take shape soon. It is replacing the old Dragon Challenge ride that closed just last year the new.

Described as a “highly-themed coaster experience” and “a new level of storytelling with an action-packed adventure” by Universal bosses. With the combined effort of the Universal creative team, the Harry Potter production team, Warner Bros. and J.K. Rowling herself, that description is likely to be accurate.

More from Harry Potter

It is all moving quick

According to the Orlando Business Journal, new permits have been filed for the construction suggesting that everything is coming together fairly quickly. Permits for both; Foundation design for future facility and Construction of the re-engineered metal building full building design, have been filed.

No official word has come from Universal but the filing of the permits suggest that some parts of the building are about to come together. Construction began almost immediately after the Dragon Challenge ride closed with the demolition phase getting underway

Harry Potter is Universals superstar

It shouldn’t be surprising that Universal bosses are wanting to get the new Harry Potter attraction up and running fast. It is by far the most popular attraction they have. When Harry Potter first came to Orlando the number of visitors to the park almost doubled. No doubt the hope will be that those numbers will increase again once the new attraction opens.
