Zachary Levi wants Gal Gadot to cameo in Shazam!

Shazam! star Zachary Levi has high hopes for his superhero origin film, of course. But he also thinks it would be especially cool if Wonder Woman showed up.

The Shazam! film, one of the projects on the board for Warner Bros. under new president Walter Hamada, is shaping up quite nicely. With Zachary Levi as the lead, I’m really jazzed to see what director David F. Sandberg has up his non-horror sleeves for this film.

Equally enthusiastic is Levi himself, who spoke with Entertainment Tonight and said he was “out of [his] mind excited!”

In typical Levi fashion (since many fans know him as the uber-nerd from Chuck), he spoke really highly of the film:

"I get to be a superhero that’s excited about being a superhero, and I think that’s refreshing. It’s not glum, and like, ‘Oh, I have to save the world again.’ So I think it’s all really gravy."

In all fairness, it is gravy.

But DC films have their work cut out for them moving forward and will need a lot of help along the way. So far, the best thing they’ve got going for them is Wonder Woman. Not only was it a film that rocked it across the board at the box office and with critics, but it also gave us Gal Gadot’s spot-on interpretation of the most iconic female superhero of all time.

So it’s only natural that Levi would want Gadot to cameo in his film, too: “I think getting a cameo from anybody would be super cool, but I just think Gal Gadot is so effervescent. She has such a charm. And she seems like a really cool broad.”

As Wonder Woman or not, I pretty much just want Gal Gadot to be around me all the time. As Zachary Levi pointed out, she’s cool. But like, of course, she is. She’s cooler than cool. But I think Kate McKinnon really summed up my sentiments best by describing us mortals as “Midwestern toads” compared to Gadot’s “Mediterranean goddess,” with everything that comes out of her mouth being magical.

And yet, I don’t know if I need a Wonder Woman cameo. Without a doubt, she’s the best thing the DC films have and she could be like their Robert Downey Jr./Iron Man adjacent. Definitely.

But the reunion I’d most like to see involves a totally different woman: Yvonne Strahovski.

That’s right. Get Sarah and Chuck back together, Sandberg! I mean, she already proved how kickass she is, and there’s plenty of room in the DCEU for another female superhero — Shazam! needs their female lead … let’s get on that.

I’m sorry, but Chuck fans remember how that series ended, right? We need closure and now’s the perfect time to do it.
