Game of Thrones season 8: Isaac Hempstead Wright has his own ideas
Isaac Hempstead Wright is just like one of the fans when it comes to Game of Thrones season 8 theories, and honestly, he’s got a case here.
While Game of Thrones has had plenty of revelations over the past seven seasons, that hasn’t stopped us from all suspecting that there’s going to be more in season 8, and apparently, that us includes Isaac Hempstead Wright. Thanks to our sister site, Winter is Coming, who found this Nerdist interview with him.
Like pretty much all fans, he has his own personal favorites, but, of course, it’s a little different when they’re about the character you’re playing. Still, he seems to be in favor of there being an almost Vulcan-like mind meld between the old Three-Eyed Raven and himself as of season 7.
Here’s what he had to say on the matter specifically:
"We’ve already see Bran mess with time and create one paradox, so it would be quite nice to give his entire story a paradox. That would justify how he can meddle with time, because he exists in a closed loop, a sort of non-linear existence.Forget the Star Trek references. Are we sure he’s not a Doctor Who fan? He sounds way too comfortable tossing those words around. Then again, Hempstead Wright is also quite correct in pointing out that Bran himself is a time traveler. We’re with WiC here in the sense that this theory is actually quite logical, and really, putting Bran in a “non-linear existence” would make the Doctor Who comparisons extremely apt (see also: everything to do with River Song). However, merging two personalities shouldn’t result in the sort of monotone personality Bran puts on display in season 7.Then again, it would be a fairly easy way for the old Three-Eyed Raven to conceal his presence in Bran’s mind, since pretty much everyone in-universe and out has effectively justified it as a side effect of his spending so long under without proper training. But that’s going a little far into the conspiracy side of things.Next: 25 of TV's messiest meltdownsBut, after all, what’s a Game of Thrones fan to do in such a long off-season? What’s your take on this theory — and what’s going on with Bran?
