Daisy Ridley thinks four years old is a little young for Star Wars, and The Last Jedi could be scary

In a new interview, Daisy Ridley acknowledged that The Force Awakens seems too “intense” for a four-year-old and that kids may be scared of The Last Jedi.

Considering my recent discussion about how the media treats Daisy Ridley, imagine my delight when I watched a new interview that actually featured some really legit questions. I always fancy questions that come from a personal place of intrigue as opposed to general plot interrogations, like “Will Rey join the Dark Side?”.

JK Schmidt from Comicbook.com sat down with Daisy and immediately got things rolling in the right direction by talking about his son. Though, I think he was helped along by a certain someone’s remarks that he seemed a little young to be married and have a child. I mean, I don’t know what she defines as young, but after going through his Twitter timeline, I sense that Joseph’s in a weird in-between of early thirties youth.

So, anyway, he asks her whether his four-year-old son will be scared of The Last Jedi since he wasn’t a fan of the moment Kylo Ren captured Rey in The Force Awakens, and Ridley answered, “Yeah … yeah.”

With a casual assertiveness that is quickly becoming a signature of hers, Ridley continued with:

"To be honest, I’m surprised at four — how old was he when he saw the first one? — that’s pretty intense. You’re exposing him to some dark [expletive] at a young age."

Disney is a family brand and I think The Force Awakens was pretty family friendly without watering down the high stakes involved with saving the galaxy. I just find it hilarious that she called him out on it (obviously, in a joking manner) before adding that the film’s sad because we’ll be watching someone “grappling with their identity.”

And the fun didn’t stop there.

The interviewer went on to ask her about Rey’s flaws, and she basically said that people can always work on stuff and she sees flaws as “room for growth.”

However, it’s how she says it that’s the funny part.

Just watch below. Just do it.

Even she said he asked great questions, and I wholeheartedly agree. I watched this interview like right before noon and it made me feel pretty light for the rest of the day, so kudos to JK Schmidt for the good interview. (It’s really her, but hey.)
