Star Wars: The Last Jedi: A teaser roundup after a holiday weekend
Worried you missed some of the latest sneak peeks at Star Wars: The Last Jedi? Worry no longer — we’ve got you covered with additional analysis.
It’s been a long weekend, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t new bits and bobs of Star Wars: The Last Jedi news to pore over this Monday. December starts at the end of this week, so we’re in the home stretch now.
First and foremost comes a new teaser, for which we tip our hats to Making Star Wars, and which is not very long. (About half of the official YouTube video is simply the usual post-video bumper that Star Wars adds on, just for reference.)
But it does, however, contain some new things:
Chewbacca shoving a Porg is for all of us who aren’t sure how we feel about the Porgs, honestly.
We’re not going to disagree with MSW’s speculation that Phasma’s line, “So good to have you back,” is directed toward Finn, but we are going to say that it’s possible the line won’t show up in the movie at all.
That’s because it works on so many different levels. On one, it teases the Finn/Phasma confrontation we know is coming. On a second, it pairs so nicely with the shot of Luke in the Millennium Falcon. Finally, with Phasma basically facing the camera as she does it … it’s directed right at us, the fans. Even after Rogue One last year, we’re now fully back in the main saga of these films.
Speaking of, CBR also has a new image, originally from Empire, showing off snowtroopers:
If this shot is actually in the movie, that is incredibly stylish, and it only makes me more excited to see what else Rian Johnson has put together for this movie. Speaking of the director, there will be a Twitter session where he’ll answer questions tomorrow, according to the official Star Wars Twitter account:
So there’s something to look forward to on a Tuesday, right?
And, finally, for those who made it all the way here, Star Wars News Net has a new snippet that hasn’t yet made it onto any proper channels … but does feature a shot of Rey running with her lightsaber apparently lit (although without any effects), and as SWNN notes, some lines we haven’t heard before from Luke and Rey.

But for all Luke’s protests, those shots of him in the Falcon are awfully compelling.
