Where and when is Taylor Swift going on tour in 2018?
With a new album comes a new tour for Taylor Swift, but when will everything kick off in 2018, and where will she go to promote the album?
Perhaps to keep the tide of good news rolling in on the heels of Billboard’s report yesterday that she sold 700,000 copies of Reputation on the first full day of its release, Taylor Swift is now going to spend a good portion of next year doing concerts all over the United States. According to Entertainment Weekly, which is citing Swift’s own website, she’ll be playing a huge number of NFL stadiums — and a few other locales, too.
However, since the tour will run into the start of the NFL season next year by virtue of running partway through October, it’s important to note that most of Swift’s shows at places like Lucas Oil Field and Arrowhead Stadium are actually on Saturdays. That seems like it might be rough on the grounds crews who will prepare the stadiums for games, but presumably her team, the NFL and the stadium crews themselves have all worked it out to perhaps ensure that the teams that play there will be away on the following Sunday.
The actual dates and venues are below, again via EW and Swift’s site:
"May 8: Glendale, AZ (University of Phoenix Stadium)May 12: Santa Clara, CA (Levi’s Stadium)May 19: Pasadena, CA (Rose Bowl)May 22: Seattle, WA (CenturyLink Field)May 25: Denver, CO (Sports Authority Field At Mile High)June 2: Chicago, IL (Soldier Field)June 30: Louisville, KY (Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium)July 7: Columbus, OH (Ohio Stadium)July 10: Washington, DC (FedEx Field)July 14: Philadelphia, PA (Lincoln Financial Field)July 17: Cleveland, OH (First Energy Stadium)July 21: East Rutherford, NJ (MetLife Stadium)July 28: Foxborough, MA (Gillette Stadium)Aug. 4: Toronto, ON (Rogers Centre)Aug. 7: Pittsburgh, PA (Heinz Field)Aug. 11: Atlanta, GA (Mercedes-Benz Stadium)Aug. 14: Tampa, FL (Raymond James Stadium)Aug. 18: Miami, FL (Hard Rock Stadium)Aug. 25: Nashville, TN (Nissan Stadium)Aug. 28: Detroit, MI (Ford Field)Sept. 1: Minneapolis, MN (U.S. Bank Stadium)Sept. 8: Kansas City, MO (Arrowhead Stadium)Sept.15: Indianapolis, IN (Lucas Oil Stadium)Sept. 18: St. Louis, MO (The Dome at America’s Center)Sept. 22: New Orleans, LA (Mercedes-Benz Superdome)Sept. 29: Houston, TX (NRG Stadium)Oct. 6: Arlington, TX (AT&T Stadium)"
As Billboard reports, Swift could very well have the best-selling album this entire year — and with her choice to go for huge venues that seat thousands upon thousands of people (Texas’ AT&T Stadium can, in fact, host 100,000 or more people for a concert), she could aim for a high-grossing tour next year, too. With all the people, that’s a lot of sales, a lot of merchandise, and a lot of money to go along with all those albums.
There’s just one date here that isn’t in the United States, and that’s the Toronto date on Aug. 4, right between a Foxborough, MA and Pittsburgh, PA set of dates. However, both EW and Swift note that there will be international dates in Australia, New Zealand, the U.K. and Ireland at minimum. Incidentally, one has to wonder — Billboard mentions Ed Sheeran’s appearance on Reputation. Could Swift call him in for some of her appearances overseas? It would have to be then, because Sheeran’s also going on tour next year, playing some of the same venues Swift is at slightly later dates. (His current listing goes through to November, for reference.)

If you already know you want to go to one of these concerts, circle Dec. 13 and Nov. 28 on your calendar. The former is the public on-sale date (so be prepared to deal with slow sites) and the latter is the last day you can register for the opportunity to buy tickets ahead of time through Verified Fan on Ticketmaster.
